Puri: A team from the University Grants Commission inspected Samanta Chandra Sekhar (SCS) College here Wednesday.
However, the committee did not divulge anything regarding renewal of autonomous status to the college.
The team held discussions with the lecturers and members of the college executive and managing committees. It advised the college authorities to hire retired lecturers and readers to provide quality teaching to students.
Members of the team also supported modern teaching methods and smart classes at the college.
Sources, meanwhile, claimed that the UGC team has agreed to renew the autonomous status of SCS College.
The college was accorded autonomous status way back in 1999. However, the renewal of the status has been awaited since 2012. Consequently, the college has not received any fund from the UGC for the past six years.
