This was informed by the district public health office (DPHO). The centre was found to be openly flouting government norms.

According to official sources, an ultrasound centre named Shree Krishna Ultrasound at Jaygopal Sahi was raided and sealed. This was done following a directive from District Advisory Committee (DAC) to ensure gender equality in the district, as abysmal gender inequality has been observed in the district over the past couple of years.

Several enforcement squads have been on routine inspection of local nursing homes and private clinics in Dhenkanal district.

Notably, the owner of the sealed centre Hemant Parida had earlier been served with a notice for rectifying such irregularities.

The squad had apprised District Collector Umesh Chandra Behera in this regard. Following which, Behera directed to seal the centre.

Dhenkanal Deputy Collector Soudamini Sahu was deputed as executive magistrate for the purpose, while ADMO (Family Welfare) Jyotish Chandra Mohaptra was among the squad members.
