Shergad: Under secretary Santosh Kumar Mishra Friday visited Lakhmipur village under this block. He reviewed implementation of various central government schemes.
The official made enquiries with the people about implementation of schemes like the Jan-Dhan Yojana, LED bulb distribution, Mission Indradhanush, the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, the Deen Dayal Updhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, and the National Rural Health Mission. He spoke to residents at a meeting in front of the Lakhmipur village house.
He sensitized the villagers to open bank accounts and get them insured. “There are bank branches in only five panchayats out of 22 in the block. There is the need to open bank branches in the rest of the panchayats, as more people will be benefited,” proposed Hina Behera.
Among others, block chairman Saras Swain, block development officer Ranjan Kumar Sahoo, tehsildar Sambit Kumar Nayak and officials of various departments like health, education, irrigation, agriculture, electricity and water and sanitation attended the meeting.
