Panikoili: Unhappy over the marks he had obtained in the Matric exams, a student, residing at Badabirua village under this police limits of Jajpur district, died by suicide late Sunday night, cops said Monday. He took the drastic step by hanging himself with a sari from the ceiling when he was alone in the house around 11.00 pm. His family members had gone to a neighbour’s house in the same village. Family members said that the deceased, since the results were announced appeared depressed as he got ‘C’ grade in the exams. He had expected higher marks, they added. However, they stated that they never thought that the student would die by suicide. Police after being informed, reached the house of the deceased and sent the body for post-mortem.
