Mumbai: Varun Dhawan had announced his collaboration with father and director David Dhawan for ‘Coolie No 1’s’ remake on his birthday this year. The film will also star Sara Ali Khan opposite Varun.
The original film featured Govinda and Karishma Kapoor in the lead. According to reports, shooting of the movie will start from August in Bangkok.
After Bangkok, filming will begin in Goa where Sara Ali Khan will join the shoot. The idea behind shooting the film in a foreign land is to give the audience a fresh vibe.
It is heard that after ‘Coolie No 1’, Varun will carry forward father David’s ‘No 1’ franchise and the rest of the films like ‘Biwi No 1’, ‘Jodi No 1’, ‘Hero No 1’ and others will be recreated as per reports.
Varun and Sara’s film will hit the screens on Labor Day, May 1, 2020.
On work front, Varun Dhawan was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Kalank’ which flopped at the box office.
