Vedanta’s fire safety awareness sessions

Jharsuguda: Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda’s CSR team and fire safety team collaborated to conduct fire safety Awareness sessions for students in peripheral schools from December 7 to 20.

With the objective to impart and equip students and staff in schools with technical knowledge on prevention and combat of fire, the fire safety team of Vedanta reached out to more than 1,200 students and school staff hailing from eight schools – Buromal Govt. School, Debadihi High School, K.G.P High School Gudigaon, Govt. U.G.H.S Siriapali, Chakradhar Birtia Govt. (New) High school Parmanpur, Banjari Project U.P School, Bapuji Nodal High School Sripura and Panchayat High school Badmal.

The awareness sessions focused primarily on analysis of causes and prevention of fire, basic firefighting methods, critical do’s and don’ts, emergency measures to be undertaken in case of fire, ensuring safety of self and helping others. Led by Kulamani Mishra of Vedanta’s fire safety department the CSR team aided in conducting these sessions through interactive teaching methods, quizzes and practical demonstrations.
