Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia actor Uttam Mohanty has been hospitalised at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar due to serious health issues.
According to reports, Uttam Mohanty had travelled outside for the shooting of a film in which he stars alongside his wife actress Aparajita Mohanty, and son Babushaan. During his stay, his health condition worsened, prompting his immediate return to Bhubaneswar for treatment.

Mohanty, currently in ICU, has appeared in over 150 films and has won numerous Odia Filmfare awards and accolades. He has also been honoured by several societies and institutes as a living legend of Odia cinema.
Notably, he excelled in various roles featuring in several blockbuster films. Movies such as Abhiman, Danda Balunga, Bhakta Salabega are remembered even today for Mohanty’s stupendous acting. He also worked in around 30 Bengali films and one Hindi film – Naya Jahar, opposite Satabdi Roy.
