Koraput:Villagers of Jhadiguda, Gunthaguda, Jholaguda and Bilaput in Koraput district have alleged large-scale irregularities in the construction of a road between Jhadiguda and Gunthaguda. Alleging the 4.39 kilometre road work was of poor quality, the villagers have been demanding reconstruction of the road.
As per sources, the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) had ordered construction of a road under Pradhan Matri Gramya Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) from Jhadiguda to Gunthaguda from October 3, 2018 at a cost of 8.199 lakh. However, the villagers expressed resentment over the poor quality of work.
On receipt of complaints from villagers, the district administration directed the concerned contractor to relay the road.
