Bhanjakia: Amid rise in mercury, water problem has hit people hard at Kakudipal under Raraun block in Mayurbhanj district. The villagers said for the last two months, a tube well has been lying defunct, but the RWSS authorities have not taken any step to set it right despite repeated complaints.
“Amid hot weather, we have no way out, but to walk to Khairibhandan river to get water. We have apprised RWSS authorities, but nothing was done,” villagers said.
Villagers had taken up the issue with the panchayat executive officer. The latter had assured to set the tube well right within a week, but to no avail. The upset villagers warned of locking the panchayat office.
