Keonjhar: Two minor girls, who were engaged in various works and tortured by a person, were rescued by some people at Gumura in Keonjhar Saturday. Locals handed over the girls to police.
The two girls belong to Mayurbhanj district. A person had engaged them in his household works. Whenever they were unable to work, the man tortured them, the girls alleged.
They also alleged that a teacher staying there in rent used to show objectionable behavior towards them. Locals came to know of the matter and rescued them. Police have taken allegation seriously and started an investigation into it. However, none was arrested.
