Vishal Chaturvedi to direct Tulsidas biopic ‘Rambola’

New Delhi: Filmmaker Vishal Chaturvedi, whose debut film Hanuman Ansh has become a surprise box office hit, has collaborated with producer Mahaveer Jain to make Rambola, a movie on the life of poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas.

Known for his devotion to lord Ram, Tulsidas is credited with popularising the story of Ramayana with “Ramcharitmanas”, which he wrote in vernacular Awadhi.

The film on Tulsidas will be directed by Chaturvedi and is produced by Mahaveer Jain, Vishal Chaturvedi, Amit Upadhyay and Raghuvendra Singh.

Chaturvedi’s Hanuman Ansh, which revolves around the life and teachings of spiritual leader Neem Karoli Baba, released August 7 and has earned over Rs 250 crore at the domestic box office.

Mahaveer Jain Films’ line up also includes Mrigdeep Singh Lamba’s Naagzilla, featuring Kartik Aaryan, Sooraj Barjatya’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya, led by Ayushmann Khurranan and Sharvari; and Vikrant Massey-starrer White.
