Wishes may not be horses, but every passionate individual strives to attain perfection in their chosen vocation. Many talented youngsters are eager to change the course of their lives in the New Year
Many talented youngsters have brought glory to the state over the last few years. Over the past few decades, the state capital has emerged as an educational hub in the eastern part of the country. From entertainment to sports and from fashion to education, youngsters from the state have achieved enviable feats at the national level. However, the road to success is strewn with hurdles. Orissa POST spoke with youngsters about the one change they would want to bring in their lives in 2017.
“I want to establish myself in the fashion industry,” says Madhu Jaiswal from Belpahad of Jharsuguda district. The final-year commerce student said: “Since long I am trying to take up fashion assignments as a professional. My friends believe I am a talented fashion designer. However, I am yet to receive training as a professional. I have tried my hand at designing dresses for my friends for both festive and social occasions. However, I still need professional training that I can’t take up because of my formal academic engagements. After my examination ends in 2017, I will venture into the fashion industry as a professional. I have spoken with a Bhubaneswar-based fashion designer about assisting him in order to gain experience. Once I am able to handle a professional assignment single-handedly, I will start my journey as a fashion designer.”
Bikash Dash is associated with a company in Bhubaneswar that deals with primary education. He is full of innovative concepts on how to educate kids in an entertaining way. But, because he is busy with his work, Bikash didn’t have enough time in the last few years to indulge in his passion. He said: “I am fond of kids. Children in my family and the neighbourhood play with me like friends. I behave with them in such a way that they think I am only a few years elder to them. Thanks to them, I have discovered that kids can grasp things better and sooner than elders, but the way of training should be entertaining. I explored this concept using my professional expertise and have discovered some interesting methods. Since long I am trying to execute the ‘fun learning’ concept but in vain. I have resolved to execute it in the New Year.”
Smrutishree Satpathy said:?“I am an IT professional. My family expects a lot of from me. My parents are well-off and they don’t need monetary support. Being their only child, I have got enough love and support from them. In the first few days of my job, I was occupied heavily because I had little knowledge of executing professional assignments properly. However, over the months, I have become more proficient, and now I don’t need to devote a lot of time. So, in the New Year I will give maximum time to my parents. They need emotional support from me and that is my first duty.”
Debashis Mishra from Patnagarh in Bolangir district said: “I belong to a family of teachers. I used to teach students up to Class VII when I was in college. But after completing my studies, I became an IT professional. Today, I am married and a proud father too. My profession lies at the other spectrum of teaching, but my passion is to become a teacher. Busy as I was with office work I could not find time for tuitions in the last few years. But in the New Year I will bring some changes in my life. I have decided to impart free education to poor children who cannot afford private tuitions. For me, the good wishes of their parents are more important than money.”
