Warriors pip Trotters to title

Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: Rayudu Warriors emerged champions in the Yuva basketball tournament after beating Trotters 72-64 in a keenly-contested final here Sunday evening. KBA secured the third position after beating Shinning Stars 58-40 in the third-fourth play-off match.
Top teams dominate
Bhubaneswar-A and Cuttack-A were in strong positions against their respective opponents in the three-day semifinal matches of the Sumit Bose Memorial OCA U-16 Inter-District cricket tournament at different grounds of Cuttack.
At BOSE Ground, put into bat first, Nayagarh were bundled out for a meagre 110 against Bhubaneswar-A with Minal Parida (3/15) emerging the highest wicket-taker. In reply, Bhubaneswar-A had a good start and were 92 for one at stumps. Suvam Satrujit (43 batting) and Binayak Mohanty (33 batting) were at the crease.
At the SCB Medical Ground, Cuttack-A scored 264 against Sambalpur with useful contributions from Subhasis Behera (56), Anil Parida (45) and Diviprasad Bhanja (44). Subham Swain (6/81) bowled well for the visitors. In reply, Sambalpur had a batting debacle and they were reduced to 55/5 at close of play.

Sultan win
Cuttack Sultan scraped past Tulasipur Jagannath Club 3-1 in a match of the Rajalaxmi Memorial veterans’ football tournament at Cuttack, Sunday.
Match drawn
Orissa held Kerala to a 1-1 draw in their first match of the BC Roy junior boys’ football tournament at Cuttack, Monday.
Orissa took the lead through Samay Hansdah in the 44th minute. Kerala equalised in the 85th minute.
