Bhubaneswar: Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja Wednesday gave a privilege notice against Water Resources Minister Raghunandan Das for misleading the Assembly by giving three different replies to a question raised by him.
Saluja said in between November 14 last year and February 2 this year, Das while replying to his question has given three different data regarding the area under irrigation in Kureikela block of Bolangir district.
He said while November 14 the minister had said 26.93 per cent of land in the block was covered under irrigation. Later, to another question, he said 27 per cent of the land in the block was irrigated and February 2 the minister claimed 24 per cent of the land in the block was under irrigation.
Saluja said the minister had misled the House and requested the Speaker to send his notice to the Privilege Committee.
The Speaker said he would take a decision after examining it.
