Talcher: A woman died after she drowned in the right canal at Samal of Talcher in Angul district Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Droupadi Debata (55) of Bikisar village under Samal police limits.
According to reports, Droupadi drowned in the canal after she accidentally slipped into deep waters while bathing in the water body, this morning.
On receipt of information, police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to trace the body.
While her dead body was fished out of the canal, police have started an investigation into the incident.
