Weather report: IMD issues warning for possible thunderstorm in 18 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather report issued a Yellow Warning for thunderstorm with lightning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of August 12: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri and Nayagarh districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha and at a few over the rest districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of August 12 to 8.30 AM of August 13: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and Boudh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and at a few places over the rest districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 36 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 36.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Paralakhemundi while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani and Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
