Puri: A woman from Ganjam Tuesday lodged a complaint with Kumbharpada police alleging an Orissa Special Armed Police (OSAP) jawan had ditched her after three years’ of relationship. The complainant said the OSAP jawan had kept physical relation with her on the promise of marriage. She claimed that the jawan was deployed in the Holy City during the Bahuda Yatra. The victim has threatened to immolate herself if the accused does not accept her as his wife.
She had terminated her pregnancy twice after her relationship with the jawan, said the complainant adding the accused had stopped contacting her.
“He had started avoiding me after his posting in Koraput. Recently, I got his phone number and contacted him. He told me to come to Puri,” said the victim, adding the jawan had promised to marry her after the Bahuda Yatra.
The victim claimed that she has enough documents to prove her relationship with the jawan. “I have submitted a few photos to police,” she said. Kumbharpada police in-charge Mrutyunjaya Swain said they have begun a probe into the matter.
