Keonjhar: Chariba Munda had had enough. So, when a quarrel broke out with her ever-drunken son yet again Friday evening, she picked up a stick and hit him on the head.
Mangal Munda (27) died instantaneously. She left her son’s body in a pool of blood and went away.
According to sources, Mangal, of Belda village under Bamebari police limits in the district, was jobless and spent most of his time drinking with his friends and roaming around without doing anything and often quarreled with his mother.
He had returned home drunk as usual Friday and soon enough, a quarrel ensued between mother and son. In a fit of uncontrollable rage, Chariba took the stick and hit her son on the head.
On being informed about the incident by the Ward Member of the village, police reached the spot, seized the body for post-mortem and started investigation after registering a murder case.
Police also traced out and detained Chariba for interrogation.
