Sambalpur: In a tragic road mishap, a woman was killed and three others, including a minor girl, were critically injured after the car they were travelling in collided against a truck near Rengali College Square in Sambalpur district in the wee hours of Saturday.
While the deceased and the injured belong to the same family, their identities are yet to be ascertained.
According to a source, they were heading towards Sambalpur in a car in the wee hours of Saturday. As they were nearing Rengali College Square, the driver lost his control over the wheels. As a result, the car ran into a truck moving in the same direction.
The impact of the collision was so severe that a female occupant died on the spot.
Hearing the commotion, local people rushed to the spot, rescued the other occupants and shifted them to VIMSAR, Burla.
On getting information, police reached the spot, recovered the body for post mortem, seized the vehicle and launched a probe.
