Bhadrak: A woman was left battling for life after she allegedly set herself on fire at Bagamara village under Rural police limits in Bhadrak district Saturday morning.
Hearing her screams, locals came to her rescue. The woman sustained grievous burn injuries and has been admitted to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital in a critical condition. She sustained 80 per cent burns.
Meanwhile, her house is reduced to ashes and the valuables completely gutted.
According to sources, the woman had a fight with one of the family members over some issue. In a fit of rage, she locked herself in a room and set herself afire after dousing kerosene in the absence of family members.
The fire, besides injuring her, spread and engulfed the entire house gutting articles and crops.
On being informed, fire personnel reached the village and doused the flames. The incident spread panic in the village.
