Woman killed in road mishap, another critical

Baripada: A woman was killed Monday while another riding pillion with her on a scooter sustained critical injuries after the two-wheeler was hit by a passenger bus at Krushna Chandra Golai on Baripada-Udala road in Mayurbhanj district. The deceased has been identified as Rashmita Behera, an employee of the Postal department. The injured woman, identified as Kantiprabha Mohapatra is undergoing treatment at the PRM Medical College and Hospital here. Both were residents of Badashola village under Kaptipada police limits. Immediately after the accident, police arrived at the spot and took both women to the hospital. However, doctors pronounced Rashmita dead on arrival. Town police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
