Sambalpur: A woman in this district was stripped by youths on the road in broad daylight for not withdrawing a rape case involving her daughter.
This incident came to the fore after the victim lodged a complaint at the Hirakud police Friday.
The incident happened at the Hirakud old market area at 4 pm Friday when the woman was on her way to bring her daughter from the school.
According to reports, two youths chased her on the street and attacked her with a sharp weapon and stripped her.
Nobody came to the rescue of the woman.
The youths abused and threatened the woman to withdraw her daughter’s rape case filed at the police station.
Later, the woman along with her family members filed a written complaint with Hirakud police.
The matter is being probed, said Hirakud IIC Tofan Baag.
