Bhubaneswar, July 21: Chandrasekharpur police Tuesday arrested the woman who had killed her husband at Radha Krishna lane Monday.
Police said they arrested Sebati Ho, a resident of Mayurbhanj district, from Panikoili of Jajpur for killing her husband Akash Hembram.
A case has been registered and Sebati was produced in court Tuesday, police said.
Earlier, police said the tribal couple used to work as labourers and had a four-year-old girl named Tarini.
“Akash used to come home drunk and the couple fought frequently. Sebati also used to drink regularly. At 3 pm July 20, Sebati left the house with Tarini and when the neighbours asked her where she was headed, she told them she was going to Cuttack.
The neighbours, however, felt something amiss and went inside Sebati’s rented accommodation to find Akash dead. When they called Sebati, her phone was switched off,” zone VI ACP Fagua Singh said.
“We found only one injury on the victim’s body. Sebati most likely had hit Akash’s head with a wooden plank,” he added.
Sources said Akash was 35 years old while his wife was over 40.
Akash was the second husband of the woman and the child was born to her first husband from whom she had separated a couple of months back.
