Patna: A 35-year-old woman’s hanging body was recovered from her house at Mundasahi in Khinchibeda village under Barbil panchayat of Keonjhar district Saturday. She was found hanging from the roof with her saree.
The deceased has been identified as Reena Munda, second wife of Bishnu Munda. The reappearance of Bishnu’s first wife and a subsequent quarrel with her is said to be the reason why Reena took to the extreme step.
According to a source, Bishnu married 12 years ago. Later, his wife left him. Thereafter, Bishnu married Reena. A community feast was organised in the village two days ago. Reena had gone to the feast. There she met with Bishnu’s first wife and a nasty quarrel ensued between them.
According to locals, Reena took the decision to end her life Friday night under mental duress following the quarrel.
On being informed, a team from Patna police station reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for postmortem.
A detailed probe is underway, it was learnt.
