BHUBANESWAR:Amid an eruption of joy, the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) celebrated its glorious journey of 30 years, a march forward, seeking excellence in fields of academics and business for the benefit of the society at large, in its premises here Friday. The two-day-long celebrations title ‘XIMB Business Excellence Summit-2017’ was inaugurated with an aim of reflecting over the past, celebrating the present and sharing the institute’s vision for the future. On this occasion, the institution brought together its alumnus from all walks of business in the hope of creating “an amalgam of ideas which will make the next leg of the journey even more exciting.” Registrar Fr EA Augustine, who gave the welcome speech, said the event provided an opportunity to interact, celebrate, discuss, reflect and collaborate. He urged the present alumnus to share their experiences with, and give guidance to, their siblings. “We are proud of the accomplishments of the last 30 years. We believe the best is yet to come and this will be possible only with our alumni’s trust in us and partnership. And there is no better way to celebrate than making our alumni a part of these celebrations,” he said. Vice-Chancellor and Director of the institute Prof Dr Fr Paul
Fernandes remembered about all the personalities who contributed to the start and growth of the XIM. He said, “When we look back in history, this landmark has been through the collaborative efforts of the man
agement, faculty, students and the entire Xavier fraternity.” Father Paul also mentioned that staff, alumnus and students body are the energy to drive XIMB forward. He invited all associated members to face all the upcoming challenges in order to maintain its excellence and walk with the challenge across the globe. The vice chancellor also emphasized the need to keep a watch on academic achievement to judge “whether it is on a rising or falling curve.” The event will end September 23.
