Bolangir:In a shocking incident, a youth was beaten to death by his elder bother over a family feud Thursday morning. The incident was reported from Dapmal village under Patnagarh police stations in Bolangir district.
The deceased has been identified as Buddhadev Pradhan.
According to sources, the two brothers had a heated argument over some issue. Losing his cool, the elder brother picked up an iron rod kept in the house and assaulted his younger brother.
He then took a lathi and beat him to death, leading to his death on the spot. On being informed by locals, police rushed to the spot and launched a probe.
11 members of the family including two women and the accused were detained for interrogation. Police also seized the bamboo stick and the iron rod used in the crime an dluanched a further probe.
The body was seized and sent for post-mortem.
