Berhampur: A youth was bludgeoned to death with a stone at Brajanagar of Berhampur town in Ganjam district Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Pradeep Behera (22).
According to sources, Pradeep left his house Tuesday evening, but never returned. His body was found near an under-construction house by some locals Wednesday morning.
Police are investigating the death, but suspect Pradeep was killed over some past enmity.
A police official said, Pradeep along with his friend, Digambar Panda alias Tuna of Bandhaguda village, had gone to an eatery at Lochapada main road October 5. A verbal spat ensued between the two, who were in an inebriated condition, while eating. Tuna pulled out a pistol and fired two rounds at Pradeep. The bullets, however, missed Pradeep. Following the incident, police had arrested Tuna.
