Kataka: A 21-year-old man was critically injured after jumping from a water tank at Kataka’s SCB Medical College and Hospital Tuesday.
The man, identified as Rajesh Parida, reportedly climbed onto the 50-foot-high water tank while he was at the hospital for a checkup at the psychiatry department. Hospital staff and others tried to persuade him to come down, but he eventually jumped from the tank, sources said.
Parida was initially undergoing treatment for a brain-related illness and had gone to the psychiatry department for a checkup, according to information available.
He later climbed the water tank located on the hospital premises. After the fall, Parida was rushed to the hospital’s Trauma Casualty, where he is undergoing treatment. His condition remains critical, hospital authorities said.
