Nayagarh: Resentment brewed among the locals after the video of a youth and a girl being forced to kneel down in the premises of a Sai temple in this district went viral on social media Sunday. The incident took place a few days back.
As per information, the two lovebirds went to the temple and sat in some corner. There, some local youths spotted them and indulged in eve-teasing.
In the video, the youths were seen thrashing the boy and forcing the two to kneel down inside the temple. The couple was in tears, pleading with the youths to allow them go away. Instead, more threats were hurled at them.
A source said the young couple was spotted in an objectionable position inside the temple. So, they were forced to kneel down by way of punishment.
Taking cognizance of the incident, police have started an inquiry. However, the exact place where the temple exists was yet to be ascertained, police said.
