Tensa: In a shocking incident, a woman was hacked to death by her stepson over a family feud at Udaghat under Koida police limits in Sundargarh district Saturday night.
The accused was identified as Mata Munda (20), stepson of the deceased Jema Munda. According to sources, an altercation erupted between the two after dinner.
Losing his cool, Mata took an axe and hacked his stepmother to death. Irate villagers thrashed him before handing him over to the police. A case of murder was registered and the body was sent for autopsy. Police arrested Mata and launched a probe.
Preliminary investigation revealed, Mata’s father had married Jema after the death of his first wife. However, Mata did not like her and this created a rift between them.
