Koraput: A youth suffered critical injuries in a clash between two groups of Bayaguda village under Sadar police limits in Koraput district over past enmity late Sunday night.
The injured has been identified as Ram Nag. His relatives admitted him to Koraput Shaheed Laxman Naik district headquarters hospital where his condition is stated to be normal now.
According to sources, a clash erupted between two groups in the village to settle past scores. The situation took an ugly turn when one group attacked another with sharp weapons injuring Nag critically.
Following this, Nag’s family members lodged a complaint with the police.
The police registered a case and detained some persons in this connection. But the police could not apprehend them as locals opposed the move.
Meanwhile, the rival group reached the police station and created a ruckus demanding immediate action.
Taking note of the matter, police registered two cases in this regard. Police forces have been deployed in the village to maintain law and order in the locality.
