Youth jumps off moving train to meet girlfriend, lands in hospital

Bhadrak: The excitement of meeting his girlfriend has landed up an engineering student in hospital.

In a bizarre incident, an engineering student jumped off a moving train at Bhadrak railway station after the moving train did not stop in the train. Sources said, the girl was waiting for him in the station.

Instead of meeting his girlfriend, he found himself in the ICU of Bhadrak district headquarters hospital (DHH) with multiple injuries when he gained consciousness.

The boy has been identified as Abhinadan Kumar, a native of Shikharpur village of Chhapra district in Bihar, a student of an engineering college in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, Kumar’s girlfriend lived in Bhadrak. He boarded the Kolkata-Prasanthi Howrah express from Bhubaneswar while his girl friend was waiting for him at Bhadrak station.

As the distance to Bhadrak station was getting shorter, his excitement of meeting his girlfriend grew stronger. But, little did he have knowledge that the train has no stoppage at Bhadrak station.

Eventually, his wait came to an end and the train passed through Bhadrak town. As the train has no stoppage at Bhadrak station, it crossed the station at its usual speed, turning Abhinandan’s excitement to sour.

While the train was crossing the station, he could see his girlfriend waiting for him on platform number 3. He thought he would not let his girlfriend’s wait for him go waste, and the next moment, jumped off the moving train.

Raiway station staff, railway police and fire personnel rescued a badly injured and bleeding Abhinandan. From his mobile phone a number, dialed two minutes before the incident, was dialed and the call was answered by none other than his girl friend. The whole story behind Abhinadan’s daring act was known only when his girl friend narrated it.

Onlookers recounted Abhinandan’s bravado as a bone chilling stunt that a Bollywood hero performs to win the heart of his heroine.
