Chandigarh: A 21-year-old youth has got the shock of his life after he learnt that he has 189 challans pending against him, issued between 2017 and 2019. What surprised him more were the challans issued in 2017, whereas he has purchased his motorcycle only about one and half years ago.
The youth, identified as Sanju, a resident of Sector 39 in Chandigarh, works in an insurance company. On july 26, he was stopped by traffic cops for taking a wrong U-turn and issued a fine of Rs 300.
But when the challan reached Chandigarh district court, the record showed that there are 189 challans pending against this persons’ motorcycle.
