Bhubaneswar: Hockey Gangpur came back from a goal down to beat Hockey Himachal Pradesh 4-1 in their Pool C encounter of the VIIIth Sub-Junior Women’s National Championships at Haryana, Friday.
Tannu gave Hockey Himachal the lead in the ninth minute, but her joy was short-lived as Sunita Xaxa equalised for Gangpur six minutes later. In the second half Manisha Oram (48th), Aten Toppo (52nd) and Philicia Toppo (64th) scored the goals for Gangpur.

Bhadresh Mohapatra, Akshant Beuria, Krusna Behera and Namal Kayal sealed semifinal spots in the U-10 boys’ category of the Gurukul Open Tennis Championships here, Friday. In the quarterfinals, Bhadresh beat D Mohanty 6-4, Akshant trounced Dev Jharjharia 6-0, Krusna hammered A Rana 6-1 and Kayal overcame M Modi 6-3.
Football tourney
Bhaktamadhu Vidyapitha thrashed Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandir in a match of the 19th Bhagaban Das Memorial Junior Inter-School football tournament at Cuttack, Friday.
In other matches played on the day, Ravenshaw Collegiate got the better of Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandir 2-0 in a match of the VIIth Basant Kumar Das Memorial Senior Inter-School football tournament.
Orissa bag 7 medals
Orissa bagged seven medals the recently-concluded 32nd ITF National Taekwondo Championship at Jaipur. In the individual sparring round Satyajit Sahoo, Sruti Sagarika Jena and Barsa Kumari bagged gold. Rutuparna Samal and Biswajit Das got silver medals, while Sai Bishes Mishra and Ritika Kanhar ended with bronze. Twelve players from Orissa participated in the event under coach Laxmi Prasad Nayak.
