Bhubaneswar: Bajrang Bali Junior Club (BBJC) emerged champions of the Biju Patnaik Gold Cup football tournament after beating Bolangir Sports Hostel (BSH) 2-0 in the final at the Unit VI ground here Wednesday.
Akshay Dey scored both the goals for BBJC in the 27th and 55th minutes respectively. He Dey of BBJC was adjudged man of the final and Arbind Lakra of BSH was adjudged man of the tournament.

Orissa entered the semifinals of the National Boys’ Football Championship after thrashing Chandigarh 6-0 in a quarterfinal match at Angul, Wednesday.
Rising Student win
Rising Student FC of Orissa rode on a splendid hat-trick by Pyari Xaxa to register an emphatic 4-1 victory over Indira Gandhi Academy in an Indian Women’s League (IWL) qualifying match at Kolhapur, Wednesday.
Pyari scored in the 16th, 45th and 72nd minutes respectively while Suprava Samal got the other goal in the 56th minute. Manisha Panna was adjudged player of the match for her excellent ball distribution and defensive abilities.

Manish Behera of City College and Suman Sahoo of DRIEMS will vie for the men’s title in the carrom tournament, organised by IPSAR College at Cuttack. Both won their semifinal matches played Wednesday, easily.
In the women’s category, Imrana Akbar of JKBK College and Astha Tiwari of IPSAR will contest in the summit clash.
Visually impaired cricket tourney
Cricket Association for the Visually-Impaired (CAVI) Orissa will organise the Ist School Level East Zone cricket tournament at the BJB College Ground here, starting November 30. Eight teams from Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa will participate in the tournament.
