Bhubaneswar: The temperature came down drastically in Odisha since Monday as rain accompanied by strong winds lashed some parts of the coastal and western districts.
In the coastal areas, Bhubaneswar recorded 31mm rainfall followed by Cuttack (20) and Puri (13) while in western Odisha, Angul recorded the highest 52mm rainfall followed by Talcher (40), Dhenkanal (25) and Sambalpur (23), said a release by the weather office here.
Due to rain, mercury fell below 40 degree Celsius in the state, except in Sonepur (42.2) and Bhawanipatna (40.2).
As per the Met forecast, rain would continue in some parts of coastal, southern and western Odisha for the next five days till May 18 . After this, the day temperature would rise gradually.
