Bhubaneswar: The online ticket sales of the Hockey World League (HWL) Finals to be played at the Kalinga Stadium here in December started, Friday.
The price of the tickets for the eight-nation and 10-day event will have the lowest tickets at Rs 50 and the highest at Rs 250. The price of the tickets for the east stand will be Rs 50, while for the west stand will be Rs 250. The tickets are now available online at www.ticketgenie.in.
League matches of the tournament will be played December1-15. Germany will take on England in the inaugural match, December 1. It will be followed by the second match of the day between hosts India and Australia. India will play against England and Germany in their next matches December 2 and 4 respectively.
All the participating teams have been clubbed into two groups. Every team will play three matches each during the league stage. Hockey India secretary-general Md Mushtaque Ahmad expressed his satisfaction at the way the city is preparing to host the event.
“Bhubaneswar is gearing up for one of the biggest hockey tournaments as we are inching towards the close of the calendar year. The tournament has garnered a lot of interest among the hockey fans around the world. So, we decided to make the tickets available for the public at an earlier stage with an accessible prices so that hockey lovers around the world can plan their trip in advance to see their favourite teams in action,” Ahmad stated.
