Bhubaneswar: Utkal University authorities have decided to reopen the varsity Monday. The campus was closed sine die before the recently held students’ union poll. The move by university authorities came after talks with the police. Classes will be held once the university opens, PG Council Chairman Ranjan Kumar Bal said here Sunday. A nine-member committee of the university headed by Vice Chancellor Soumendra Mohan Patnaik held discussions with Police Commissioner Y B Khurania at the Commissionerate police headquarters. The decision to reopen the university was taken after the meeting, Satpathy said. Adequate police will be deployed on the campus if needed, said Khurania.
