Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of livestock inspectors, veterinary technicians and veterinary assistance surgeons took out a rally under the banner of All Odisha Non-Gazetted Veterinary Technical Officers’ Association from Master Canteen Square here Monday.
The rally culminated at lower PMG where they started an indefinite cease work strike.
Pressing for their five-point demand, the veterinary staff had staged a token demonstration wearing black badges from January 29 to Februaray 10 in their respective centers in their rest hours without hampering their duties.
“As our token protest fell on the government’s deaf ears, we have taken this ultimate step and would continue the stir till we get a written assurance from the government,” said a member of the Administrative Committee of the Association Prashant Kumar Mishra.
