Bhubaneswar: Veterans Club and KIIT registered victories in different matches of the E-League cricket tournament at the IMMT Ground here Saturday.
In the first match Veterans scripted a resounding 121 run victory over IMMT. They scored 194 for four riding on a fine knock by man of the match, Amarash Mohanty (53). He was well-supported by Ashok Panda (27) and Sumanta Nayak (24). Biswaranjan Das (3/28) was the most successful bowler for IMMT.
In reply IMMT were bundled out for 73 in 17.3 overs. Barring Tapas Sahoo (20) none could offer any resistance with the bat. Ritesh Priyaranjan (3/15) bowled well for Veterans. Amaresh was adjudged man of the match.
In the second match on the day, KIIT defeated Infosys by 33 runs. Batting first KIIT rode on a brilliant half century by Anuttam Das (55) to notch up 126 for five. Kanta Ashrit Patnaik (2/24) and Khitish Mishra (2/26) picked up two wickets each for Infosys.
Chasing a victory target of 127, Infosys were skittled out for 93 in 19.2 overs. Santosh (3/14) won the man of the match award for KIIT with his bowling effort.
TFC enter semis
TFC, Bhubaneswar entered the semifinals of the Harishandra cricket tournament after beating Reliance CIG, Bhubaneswar by three wickets at Banki, Saturday.
Reliance CIG scored 182 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs with contributions from Naresh Sahoo (35), Rabindra Behera (34) and Biswajit Mohapatra(31). Sani Mishra (4/10) was the best bowler for TFC.
Chasing a victory target of 183, TFC romped home in 18.1 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Satyajit Sahoo (60) led the run chase with a patient half century.
