Ujjain: At least 12 people killed in a major road accident which occurred here late Monday night. The head-on collision between two cars took place near Ramgarh village in the district. Another two persons sustained critical injuries.
The chief superintendent of Police of the district said, “12 people died after two cars collided. Two others have been seriously injured.” ‘’The deceased include three children” he added.
Expressing grief over the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter Tuesday and said, “The road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district is unfortunate. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their loved ones.”

Police said an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident is underway.
