Bhubaneswar: As many as 675 domestic violence and 707 dowry cases have been registered with the State Commission for Women (SCW) till November end this year.
Women and Child Development minister Prafulla Kumar Samal informed this to State Assembly, adding, four divorce and 44 molestation cases have also been reported to the commission this year.
Samal said that out of these total 1,430 various cases, the SCW has registered 14 cases on its own on the basis of various allegations.
He informed the House that of all these cases, 132 domestic violence cases, 93 dowry cases and five molestation cases have been settled, while 543 domestic violence cases, 614 dowry cases, 39 molestation cases and four divorce cases are still pending with the
commission.
