Hyderabad: The much awaited sci-fi film 2.0 starring megastar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar opened to packed houses Thursday in 10,500 screens.
Directed by Shankar, the Hindi version is expected to earn between Rs 20-25 crore on the day of its release. If we consider all languages (Tamil and Telugu), the film will touch Rs 100 crore (gross) mark on day one.
According to reports, in Chennai city it earned ₹ 2.64 Crs in day 1. It has beaten Sarkar‘s Rs 2.37crs set Diwali day.
The 3D film has been well accepted by critics and fans alike. Megastar Rajnikant’s fan have been going gaga over the film and have rebooked their tickets for the second day.
Rajinikanth was seen in multiple avatars namely Dr Vaseegaran, Chitti, 2.0 and 3.0. The film’s brilliant visual effects wowed the audience in the theaters.
2.0 also stars Sudhanshu Panday, Adil Hussain and Amy Jackson. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman has been bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
