Bhubaneswar: In a bid to preempt the occurrence of any untoward incident during the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2018, the state government has asked the SPs of 20 districts to maintain law and order at the examination centres.
More than 48,000 candidates will appear in OJEE -2018 to be held May 13 at 81 centres in various parts of the state for admission into professional and technical courses in the state.
Skill Development and Technical Education secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh Friday wrote letters to SPs of Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Khurda, Bolangir, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Puri, Rayagada, Rourkela and Sambalpur in this regard.
“For smooth and hassle-free conduct of OJEE-2018, kind co-operation of the district police administration is highly essential. You are, therefore, requested to take adequate steps for police arrangement at the examination centre(s) to maintain law and order. Further, you are also requested to kindly extend all cooperation to the officers engaged for conduct of OJEE 2018 as and when required,” Singh said in his letter.
Moreover, the secretary requested Home secretary Asit Tripathy, director general of police RP Sharma, and twin city police commissioner YB Khurania to issue instructions to all concerned authorities for deployment of adequate police personnel at the centres.
