3 engg boys among 4 killed

Sambalpur, Jan 10: Four persons including three students of an engineering college were killed and one was seriously injured while the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a tree along NH-55 near Pradhanpali under Charamala police station of the district Saturday morning.

Police said the dead included the driver. All the four died on the spot. According to police, the mishap occurred when the vehicle hit a roadside tree after the driver lost control of the car.
The students were on their way to Sambalpur from Bhubaneswar.
The seriously injured student was first rushed to Rairakhol hospital and later shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Medical College and Hospital, Burla, after his condition deteriorated.
Police and fire brigade personnel have reached the accident site.
According to police sources at Bhubaneswar, one of the road mishap victims has been identified as Lalit Kishore Hembram (19), a resident of SBI Colony in Siripur under Khandagiri police limits in Bhubaneswar.
Three other victims have been identified as Saurabh Singh (21), Biswanath Beriha (21) and Swastik Seth (20) – all belonging to Sambalpur.
