Talcher: Police arrested three persons in connection with the alleged attack on an eatery owner over extortion of money near Sandhagaon under this police limits in Angul district.
The arrested persons have been identified as Jyotiranjan Patnaik and Chittaranjan Nayak of Keonjhar and Sesana Nayak of Talcher area.
According to sources, four miscreants had allegedly attacked ‘dhaba’ owner Daljit Singh with sharp weapons after he refused to give them Rs 10,000 every month as extortion money a few days ago. Singh received grievous injuries on his neck and body following which he was immediately rushed to a hospital.
Basing on a complaint by Singh, police launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants.
A special team of police conducted simultaneous raids in Talcher area and nabbed the three accused involved in the attack. The police team also seized a car from their possession.
Meanwhile, one more accused involved in the attack is stated to be absconding and police have launched a manhunt to nab him.
