Baripada: In a major crackdown, police busted several sex rackets at Baripada town, Saturday. Police raided three lodges late Friday night and detained 30 youths and girls on charges of their involvement in immoral activities.
Police had got a tip-off about flesh trade in some hotels. Led by Baripada SDPO KK Hariprasad, three teams were formed. The three teams carried out raids in three hotels simultaneously.
However, police have recovered no objectionable material from hotels.
The youths were taken to the police station in a van. Some of them were college students. Baripada police have detained two women staff of the lodges for questioning. Staff of the hotels will be quizzed about such immoral activities.
In fact, police got the clue about the illicit activities while investigating the missing case of a college girl. The girl had put up with a youth in a hotel at Baguli Market. A staffer of the hotel was taken for quizzing in this regard. Later, he was set free. From him, police got to know of the sex racket.
