Berhampur: Berhampur Sadar police detained three minor boys Wednesday, in connection with allegedly gangraping a 10-year-old girl two days ago in Ganjam district.

According to sources, the three accused were interrogated by the Sadar police in the morning. The accused trio was then forwarded to the local juvenile court in the afternoon.
The victim’s parents are daily wagers and had gone to Berhampur on the intervening day. Finding the girl alone at home, the accused barged into her house and gangraped her, a police official said.
The three boys fled the spot soon after committing the crime.
The gangrape survivor narrated her plight to her parents when they returned home in the evening. Father of the minor girl lodged an FIR with the Sadar police.
The three accused and the gangrape survivor will be sent to MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCGMCH) here for medical examination. Further investigation into the case is still underway, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Berhampur Sadar Jayant Kumar Mohapatra said.
