Jajpur: Three persons were killed while another sustained grievous injuries after an unidentified trailer truck hit them near BRPL square in Kalinganagar area of Jajpur district Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Tapan Sethi, Balaram Jena and Rajendra of Kendrapara district while the injured person is Chandan Nayak. All the four were workers at JOSKO Company in the district.
According to sources, when the four were standing at BRPL square, a trailer truck hit them killing three persons on the spot and injuring Chandan critically. The driver of the truck fled the spot with the vehicle after the mishap.
Later, locals rushed Chandan to Dhangadi hospital where he is undergoing treatment and is stated to be critical, sources added.
Police rushed to the spot after getting information and started investigation.
