Cuttack, Feb 5: A disciplinary committee of Ravenshaw University issued notices to three inmates of New PG hostel to vacate the rooms after ganja and pipe stacks were found from their rooms Thursday.
The varsity authorities also sealed the rooms from where narcotics were recovered.
According to sources, the committee conducted a thorough search at the varsity hostels to check the veracity of allegations that non-boarders are staying at hostels. Much to its surprise, the committee found ganja, pipe stack and alcohol from the New PG hostel. The inspection was carried out in the presence of hostel superintendent and warden.
When asked, New PG hostel superintendent Siddharth Bharadwaj said two rooms have been sealed and the students were interrogated. The committee took action against the students after the latter failed to give satisfactory reply when asked about how narcotics came into the hostel.
